Mini Golf Fun in 2013

I’m a 31 year old Black queer woman residing in Berkeley, CA. By day, I am a social programs researcher and project manager; while, by night, I am a social entrepreneur and part-time graduate student. The thread between my paid job and my passion venture is authenticity and perpetual learning. And, that’s what I plan to provide here.

My blog began three years ago as a space to use my voice, as well as my ever-growing knowledge and experience to create awareness around the intersections of identity and oppression within education and sport. It was my belief then (and in many ways still is) that these two institutions are reflective of our society’s overall hegemonic ideals and values. Like all good things that age (e.g. wine, cheese, etc.), my interests and experience have and continue to expand.
As such, this is my documentation of that journey (and adventure) as I passionately write, share information and resources, and reflect as I make strides to do my part to enact change in the world.
